Adelaide hosts the UCI WorldTour Tour Down Under each January, and the city's relationship with cycling shows everywhere. Linear Park follows the River Torrens for around 35km from the foothills to Henley Beach. The Adelaide Hills climb directly out of the city centre — Mount Lofty Summit is 30 minutes from the CBD. The Parklands ring the city with continuous trails. There aren't many cities this navigable on foot or by bike.
Adelaide fitness skews cycling, running, and triathlon, with strong yoga and Pilates clusters in Norwood, Unley, and the city east. The annual Tour Down Under (late January) sets the cycling pulse; Mount Lofty climbs out of Crafers are a weekend rite. Linear Park is the city's running spine, with morning crews from North Adelaide to Henley. Beachside training along the Glenelg-to-Henley foreshore is a year-round fixture.
FITURO is free on iOS and Android, with no subscription tier — and as of May 2026 the Adelaide community is one of the most active in Australia. The Australian Department of Health and Aged Care recommends 2.5–5 hours of moderate physical activity per week for adults aged 18–64; that target is meaningfully easier to hit when you have a partner waiting on you.
